2D materials under irradiation for tomorrow’s functionalities
In this thesis, we propose to gain a better understanding of the processes involved in ion-beam structuration and the modification of 2D material properties as a function of the influence of different irradiation parameters on the local radiation-induced modifications. This thesis can be link to a M2 training, please contact the team.

The members of the EMIR&A Scientific Advisory Board and of the EMIRUM organization team are pleased to reward Ms Charlotte VERNOZY–TROUILLET for the best PhD presentation at the EMIR&A user’s meeting 2023, on “Decrease of the singly ionized zinc vacancies content under high energy electron irradiation in ZnGeP2”.
The EMIRUM 2023 was hosted by the CIMAP at GANIL on December 14th, 15th 2023 and welcomed 80 participants.
Many PhD students have presented their works and results obtained on the different facilities of EMIR&A with high quality talks and discussions. The event provided an opportunity for intense exchanges between users, the Scientific Advisory Board and facilities teams.

The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) of the University of Lisbon is conducting an open search for candidates who are interested in applying for upcoming openings of tenure track positions in the areas of Nuclear Technologies and Radiological Protection and Chemical and Radiopharmaceutical Sciences.
Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Researcher level
Requirements and desired skills:
Prospective candidates must, by the date of the upcoming opening, have earned a doctoral degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology or related areas. Candidates must have an excellent record of publications, capacity to raise project funding and a clear potential to promote and lead research activities in the area of Nuclear Sciences and Technologies. Strong communication skills and proficiency of the English language are required.
The candidates will be expected to:
1) Develop a strong and independent research career with national and international recognition;
2) Develop a research program, which is capable of attracting competitive funding at the national and international level;
3) Supervise undergraduate, MSc and PhD students;
4) Contribute to undergraduate and graduate (MSc and PhD) teaching programs;
5) Carry out other service activities as a faculty member, by interacting collegially and maintaining the highest standard of integrity and ethics.

Tenure track at IST-ULisboa:

Post-doctorat de 12 mois sur l’Etude des effets synergiques de l’excitation électronique et des
chocs balistiques sur les cellules silicium haut rendement hétérojonction. Ces travaux s’inscrivent dans le cadre du projet SiNRJs à l’interface entre deux directions du CEA, sur les thématiques photovoltaïques spatial & irradiations matériaux.

SURFN 2022 s’adresse particulièrement aux doctorants, post-doctorants, personnel en appui à la recherche et chercheurs de la communauté des sciences du nucléaire concernés par l’étude des processus physicochimiques se déroulant aux interfaces solides et liquides. L’école associe des cours théoriques sur les surfaces et interfaces à des cours spécifiques d’initiations aux techniques « clés » de caractérisation des surfaces prenant en compte les besoins spécifiques de la communauté.
